It has been a long time since the last flavor. I decided to create something new and fresh, for spring and forthcoming summer. Here come the new theme : Greeny (named so because it's obviously and helplessly green). I hope you will all appreciate this new skin for the website. I wait for your feedbacks by email (webmaster at kari-rueslatten.net) or on the guestbook !

Along with this new flavor, you can check the new flag that appeared in the language list : Spanish. Finally, I got the last bits of translations to make it available. I still need to add the main template sheet, for menus and contextual sentences. So for now, only the biography (translated by Pamela Vargas) and news are fully translated. A big thank to Alex Poblete, for his outstanding work and friendly attitude. He's planning a Kari Chilean website soon (fully in spanish). The idea behind this title is that all the songs tell somebodys story, but their story could also be my own. People make choices that sometimes is beyond our understanding. But if we were to be in their position we might have done excactly the same.

The songs will be arranged using both programmed and acoustic instruments. I am working closely with both a music-programmer and my band, in order to create an atmosphere for the songs that I would like to think of as unique to myself.

I am in the middle of everything right now, and it feels as if the weeks are just flying by.I know that the time will come soon for the mixing of the songs, and by thenit all has to be finished from my side. It feels a bit scary to finish off the songs, but I also look forward to holding the album in my hands. Then the songs no longer live separate lifes, rather they form an album together, telling other peoples stories as well as my own."

It will be a remixed version of 'Calling you', plus 'Exile'. Kari tells you how the remix came about...

"I met Martin Eden when I was living in London, working on Pilot. He is a very talented musicprogrammer and producer, and I like his style of music a lot. When I got to know him he was working with Bjørk (!) I played him the song 'Calling You'' from Pilot, and he said he would very much like to remix it. And I said yes, please do!!! Thank you Martin"

The complete tracklisting on the single will be :

  Calling you (Remix)
  Calling you (Album version)
  Exile
  Exile (Video)

Norway's largest river, Glomma, and the deepest, Vorma, create the backdrop of the festival.

Every day for ten days, you may choose between concerts, exhibitions and sports activities in beautiful surroundings along the riverside. The artists and arrangements are famous for their high quality.

This year, Kari Rueslåtten played with Anne Grete Preus. Here are some pictures from the show.
